Michael O’Callaghan
Director of Acquisitions for the Carolinas & Florida Regions
Michael is responsible for acquisition sourcing efforts in the various markets within North Carolina, Florida, as well as in NYC Metro markets. Michael also helps coordinate various operating partner relationships throughout the Eastern United States and assists with matters relating to public relations.
Michael began his career as a Senior Research Analyst for a Presidential Campaign in 1988, where he served as a principal on the campaign’s debate preparation team. Upon graduating law school, he served as a Staff Attorney for the United States Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Enforcement and was appointed Associate Special Counsel to the United States Senate’s Special Committee Investigating Whitewater Development Corporation and Other Related Matters. He subsequently became General Counsel and Director of Acquisitions of Carey International, Inc.
Prior to joining Rubenstein Partners, Michael co-founded and served as CEO of Union, a full-service advertising agency located in New York City. While at Union, he oversaw the development of strategic brand positioning and advertising and marketing campaigns for national and international clients. He joined Rubenstein Partners in January 2006 where he initially served as the firm’s Director of Marketing.
Michael earned his Bachelor of Arts from Duke University in Political Science in 1987. Michael then earned his Juris Doctor degree from Fordham University School of Law in 1992.
